Audi told about the addition to the family e-tron: in Europe began receiving pre-orders for a powerful version of the crossover e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback. Externally, the S-version differs from conventional e-trons by wider wheel arches (+23 mm), made angrier than the bumper, 20" or 21" disks and dark calipers with the letter S. Orange calipers with the e-tron inscription are offered for an additional fee. There are sports seats (remotely resembling sports buckets) in Nappa leather upholstery and decorative carbon and aluminum inserts on the front and in the doors.
Technically Audi e-tron S and its coupe version e-tron S Sportback are the same. Both electric cars are equipped with a three-engine power unit with a peak output of 503 hp and 973 Nm, overboost mode is also available with a button for 8 seconds full power output. This allows crossovers to accelerate from a place up to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 210 km/h.
Rest of the time 435 hp and 808 Nm of torque are available, 75 hp and 247 Nm more than the previous e-tron 55 quattro. A 95 kWh lithium-ion battery installed under the floor provides 359 km of e-tron S mileage and 364 km of e-tron S Sportback crossover.
This is by default the E-tron S drives each motor on a wheel at the rear, which made it possible to implement a torque vectoring system. The front unit is only connected when the wheels are slipping. An exception is Sport mode, in which the front drive unit is not connected and this allows a slightly dashing drift style.
Also the S-version has got a converted adaptive air suspension, which allows you to lower the vehicle by 78 mm and front air intakes with active flaps, which open when necessary, additional cooling of the brakes or all-wheel drive system. At the rest they are closed for better aerodynamics. Both S-crossovers are equipped with reinforced brakes that stop the vehicle immediately.
