The new Supra, which leaves the Toyota factory exclusively with automatic machines, can still get a manual gearbox. This information was shared by Car and Driver with a link to the Japanese portal Mag X. According to the publication, "mechanics" can be one of the ways to fuel demand by attracting fans of "three-pedal" cars. Earlier representatives of Toyota already noted that the prototype of Supra of new generation with such box is already assembled and is being tested.
Whichever engine will get the compartment with the "mechanics" is still unknown. One of the options is a four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine rated at 258 horsepower from the BMW Z4 roadster, which is already announced for the Supra 2021 model year. On the Z4, it is basic and is coupled to a manual transmission.
